Our fourth Tectonics Reykjavik Festival takes place in Harpa Concert Hall on April 16 & 17, 2015
Featured artists this year include Robyn Schulkowsky, Alvin Curran, Stephen O’Malley, Jon Rose and Joel Stern, as well as performances by experimental duos Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides and Usurper. The Iceland Symphony Orchestra premieres works by Áki Ásgeirsson, Magnús Pálsson, Kristín Þóra Haraldsdóttir, Hlynur Aðils Vilmarsson and Úlfur Hansson along with performances of works by Catherine Lamb and Klaus Lang. The festival opens with a collaborative performance by Icelandic composer’s collective S.L.Á.T.U.R and artist and instrument builder Sarah Kenchington. Furthermore, performances by renowned Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir and the up-and-coming Bergrún Snæbjörnsdóttir will be a part of the late-night shows. The Icelandic Youth Orchestra featuring students from the Iceland Academy of the Arts will join the Iceland Symphony in performances of new pieces by Robyn Schulkowsky and Alvin Curran, commissioned by Tectonics to be performed in Harpa’s foyer.
